Harold Hill's Central Park Leisure Centre is celebrating its 20th birthday with a fun day.

Eight hours of fun and fitness activities are planned on Saturday (November 30) to mark the milestone — and to raise money for the Breast Cancer Now charity.

Donations of £1 are being asked for joining each activity between 9am and 5pm, like the sports hall group "exercise takeover" and a DJ-powered gym.

But there are also free personal training taster sessions.

The Big Splash aims to give 100 children a chance to learn artistic swimming, fast swimming, water polo and rookie lifeguard skills.

“Celebrating 20 years is a milestone,” Everyone Active area manager Tom Fletcher said.

“The event is about bringing the community together to support Breast Cancer Now with a day of fun, fitness and fundraising.”

The leisure centre, in Gooshays Drive, managed for Havering Council by the Everyone Active group, opened in 2004 and had an extensive refurbishment in 2017 with an 160-station gym, two swimming pools, sauna, steam room, spa and a four-court sports hall.

Events are first-come, first-served, so booking is being suggested on the everyoneactive.com website’s Central Park Leisure Centre open day page.
