The day started off with an introductory breakfast, where there were various meal options during this time we were introduced to the agenda of the day. And the objective which was “To encourage and inspire women to pursue careers in logistics, transport and the electric vehicle (EV) sectors by highlighting opportunities, sharing success stories and providing networking opportunities.”. The first session started where we learnt more about the industry, we also watched two adverts and realized how there was a lack of female representation in the industry. The day was very interactive with Kahoot games testing us on the knowledge that we had learnt from the presentation.

A panel took places with may woman from various STEM field jobs where students could ask question on how their jobs were like, and how they could get in fields of jobs like them. There were representatives from various companies like Nissan and Amazon, this was very inspiring for many students as they were able see woman in a field of work which is more male dominated. As students learned that man are more likely to apply for a job even though they do not reach 100% of the criteria, however due to this event it has encouraged many female students to take a chance and break through male dominated fields.
