A Kingston songwriter is creating a buzz with her new single Mr Superfly which is tipped to be the new Crazy Frog and fly straight to the top of the charts.

Lou Mullen, a songwriter with Private and Confidential Music in Kingston, was inspired to write Mr Superfly, after her daughter Tia, seven, stepped off a Ryanair flight and could not stop humming their in-flight jingle, the Trolley Song.

And now the tune, which has attracted over 110,000 hits on YouTube is set to top the charts this weekend after being released on Monday.

Ms Mullen, 38, a previous backing singer for M People star Heather Small, said the song took just a week to write after she returned from the Ryanair flight with her daughter in June.

"Tia was singing the tune over and over again. Usually I am a sensible songwriter but I thought I'd have a bit of fun and write a children's song," she said.

After writing the song, Private and Confidential approached Ryanair who have thrown their weight behind the single.

Now bookmaker Paddy Power is offering 3-1 odds that the song will be number one on Sunday and 20-1 odds that it will reach the coveted Christmas number one.

And, while Ms Mullen admits the song is a real love it or hate it tune, she is laying down a challenge to pop supremo Simon Cowell.

"I'm really bored of the charts at the moment. X-Factor is always number one and has monopolised the Christmas charts but what happened to the fun songs such as Mr Blobby and Bob The Builder?

"We're known for being a bit eccentric in Britain and I just want to make people laugh."
