Jobs are being cut and branches closed at a plumbing and building supplies firm with outlets in Bromley and Lewisham.
Wolseley, which trades as Plumb Center and Build Center, plans to cut 2,000 jobs and close more than 200 branches in the UK and Ireland.
The cuts will be phased over the next two months.
There are branches of Plumb Center in New Cross and Forest Hill along with Build Centers in Mottingham, West Wickham and Orpington.
A spokesman for the company said employees were being consulted but it had not decided which of its 1,900 branches would be affected.
Robert Dockwray, manager of Build Center in Station Approach, Mottingham, said: “As it stands, no, we don’t think this will affect us.
“I think you’ll find it’s more the smaller branches that will be affected.”
Job cuts at Wolseley's UK and Ireland division are expected to reduce annual costs at the company by £80 million.
Wolseley said revenues in the UK and Ireland division decreased by about 10 per cent with trading profits down by around 65 per cent in the three months to October 31.
