A 17-year-old is to appear before magistrates accused of murdering Shakilus Townsend.
The youth, who has not been named, will appear before Sutton Magistrates this morning.
He was arrested last Tuesday by police in a raid on an address in Thornton Heath.
He is the seventh person to be arrested and charged in connection with the beating and fatal stabbing of the 16-year-old.
Shakilus, known to family as Shaki, was killed after being ambushed outside flats in Beulah Crescent, Thornton Heath in July.
He was beaten with a baseball bat before being stabbed.
Police and ambulance crews found the teenager in a doorway to a block of flats.
Shaki, of Tanners Hill, SE8 was taken to St George's Hospital, but was pronounced dead just after midnight.
