A market trader has been accused of racially abusing a member of public.
The incident happened last Wednesday at around 4.30pm in the market place, St Albans.
The alleged victim who was walking along the pavement at the French Row junction with Spicer Street asked a stallholder to move his stock so he and his wife could pass.
An argument then eruoted between the pair, and it is alleged the man was racially abused.
The verbal disagreement was witnessed by two schoolgirls, and the alleged victim has reported the incident to the police.
