A director of a huge Acton based company has stepped down amid a shares scandal.
David Ross, a co-founder of the Carphone Warehouse which has its headquarters on Gypsy Corner, on the A40, admitted he used some of his 19.4 per cent stake in the company as collateral against personal loans, but did not tell any of the relevant authorities.
Under the rules of the Stock Exchange the company must make an announcement if anyone uses shares in this way, but Mr Ross failed to tell the appropriate people at the Carphone Warehouse.
He was appointed by Mayor of London Boris Johnson to the board of the 2012 Olympics, to try and prevent the games from going over budget, and is a director of National Express, ITIS, Intrinsic Value and Big Yellow Group.
