The mother of 11-year-old James Taylor, who died in New Ash Green last week, has been charged with his murder.
Jennifer Taylor, aged 44, of Knights Croft in New Ash Green, will appear before Dartford magistrates this morning (December 9).
Police found James' body at his home at around 5.30am last Tuesday (December 2) after receiving a call from someone believed to be his mother.
They also found his mother in a critical condition.
She was arrested in connection with James' death and was in hospital until yesterday (December 8), when she was released and taken into police custody.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on James but further tests are needed before a cause of death can be established, police say.
