There is more chance of having a car crash in Ilford than anywhere else in London, a new report has claimed.
The figures come from insurance company Endsleigh, who say the frequency of claims from its policyholders in Ilford in the past three years is higher than anywhere else in the capital.
Overall, Ilford is the second riskiest place in the UK, with Slough taking the top spot.
Endsleigh spokeswoman Rhiannon Harris said: "Whilst these figures will no doubt be of concern to the residents of London, there are reasons to be positive.
"London may have more ground to catch up than some other places but that is why local initiatives to improve motorists’ safety are important.
"I am sure that the £45 million being invested over the following year by Transport for London will have a positive effect on reducing the number of motor accidents in the capital."
"Our report highlights that some towns and cities represent a greater risk for motorists than others. However it is important that motorists throughout the country are extra vigilant at this time of year.
"Drivers need to be even more careful leading up to Christmas when there are usually a greater number of vehicles on the roads and when weather conditions can be extremely hazardous."
