The founder of Britain’s only environmental radio station, based in Merton, has been named in a new team of London Leaders - tasked with making the capital more livable and sustainable.
Chantal Cooke, director of Passion for the Planet, is part of the 16-strong team selected by the London Sustainable Commission for their ability to inspire, motivate and innovate in their chosen field of passion.
The new team replaces the original group of London Leaders who successfully completed a range of projects including working with London television and film industries to promote energy efficiency and training young refugee leaders in environmental issues.
London Mayor Boris Johnson said: “Inspirational individuals can really help to galvanise communities and organisations to make changes for the better and help create a more livable, pleasant city now and for future generations.”
