Despite being the world's favourite and best clubbing destination, lots of people decide against travelling there because of hearing all of the horror stories about how expensive all of it can be. Stories of it costing clubbers £1000 a week in spending money aren't uncommon - in fact it's pretty much par for the course. This article hopes to help the first time traveller save their money without compromising on the overall enjoyment of their pilgrimage to the 'White Isle'. Please take time to read the following list of key points if you WANT to go to Ibiza, yet WANT to try and save money: - 1. Travel off peak - choose to travel in either June or September, because you'll still get great weather, it'll be less expensive to get there in the first place as many companies offer cheap holidays in Ibiza this time of year, you'll no doubt see better bar offers etc, it'll be busy enough without being packed out everywhere you go and you could also get to see the spectacular opening/closing parties.
2. Suss out the best deals - Is it going to be best booking a low cost flight offer months in advance with separate accommodation? Or is it going to be best grabbing a late package deal? Either way make sure you book when the offers are on and ensure the best prices for yourself.
3. Is it cost effective to upgrade your board basis at your hotel? If for example you can pay an extra £100 up front to stay all inclusive, then in the long run it's easily going to pay for itself, which means it's well worth doing.
4. Buy cheaper alcohol and drink it before your night out - It seems obvious as many people do it in the UK anyway, but it's even more relevant when it comes to Ibiza as bar drinks cost around 6 Euro and club drinks cost up to about 25 Euro (!), so before you know it you've spent 150 Euro on a single night out. However, if you stock up at the supermarket (or make good use of your all-inclusive!) before you go out, enjoy some drinks back at the hotel/apartment and then go out you will save an absolute fortune as you won't need to buy so much when you're out.
5. Many of the club's entry fees are fixed at around 45 Euro pp, which is expensive enough without paying for taxis on top, so look out for the offers clubs have on - some clubs offer free bus services from San Antonio to get there, whilst others will refund you your taxi fare so long as you have a receipt for it off the driver along with having usually a minimum number of at least three people in the taxi. Take note that they don't pay for you to get back though, so why not try to get a few of you to share the cost of taxis - over the course of the holiday it'll save you a fortune.
6. Finally, another way to enjoy cheap holidays in Ibiza by saving money is to not buy or take any pricey jewellery/shoes/clothes etc along with you on your trip. Firstly, it's easy to lose or damage your possessions out there, especially on nights out - this means that if you want to replace whatevers damaged or lost, then it's going to cost you a lot of money to do so. Secondly, the dress code in Ibiza is really relaxed - the nightclubs are packed with clubbers dressed in little more than beach attire (mainly due to the clubs being extremely hot inside), so you are best off buying and taking loads of inexpensive clothes along with you which you would be able to afford to let get ruined or lost. If you damage or lose any of these clothes then you won't be bothered and it also saves you money on buying an expensive set of holiday clothes beforehand.
