A GROUP of High Wycombe residents is fighting "neighbours from hell" who they claim are making their lives a misery.
The angry band from Cressex have set up an action group in a bid to lobby retail giants Asda and McDonald's over growing litter problems.
Entitled the Alford Road Action Group (ARAG), members have sent letters to neighbours in the Holmer Farm estate urging residents to join.
Steve Hodges, of ARAG, said: "People have been complaining for ages. It is only now we have got together to fight it. We are hard-working taxpayers who have had enough."
They claim abandoned trolleys, litter and waste have made gardens and footpaths in Alford Road a squalid mess.
Rosie Mladenovic, 55, added: "Because of the litter problem, when the wind blows it all comes to rest in our gardens."
The group accepts the problems are caused by customers, but says the companies should cut the trouble off at its source.
ARAG displayed its tactics by phoning Asda to read out a statement criticising what it claims is a lack of action.
A leaflet drop has also been carried out urging neighbours to email Asda's head office highlighting "quality of life". The group has so far received 15 signatures of support.
Asda acknowledges there is a problem with customers removing trolleys from the store but said the problem was remedied by weekly trips to round up abandoned trolleys.
A spokesman added: "We're working with our head office to try and come to a permanent solution to prevent trolleys being removed in the first place.
"We have found it to be a great help when members of the public have rung our store concerning the location of abandoned trolleys."
McDonald's, which franchises the restaurant in Asda, said it would be investigating the issue of litter.
A spokesman said: "McDonald's is committed to being a responsible and valued member of the community. Part of this commitment is to protect the local environment.
"To this end, staff at the restaurant conduct daily litter patrols of the car park area and share this responsibility with Asda. Given the concerns of the local residents, the management team at McDonald's are very keen to meet with them to so that we can find a solution that all parties are satisfied with."
