A Croydon magistrate is hoping to become the Conservative Party's candidate for London's mayor in the 2008 election.
Simon Fawthorp, who has been a magistrate since the age of 23, wants to secure the Conservative nomionation of putting communities first in London, because he feels many outer London boroughs like Croydon often get overlooked in the mayor's plans.
He said: "At the moment everything is dictated from the centre which often means individual communities are overlooked, as they do not fall within the mayors priorities."
