A Carshalton teenager was killed on Monday afternoon when the car she was travelling in collided with a 4x4 vehicle in Essex.
Lauren Davis, 18, from Whitland Road, was confirmed dead at the scene despite efforts made by the London Air Ambulance to save her.
A second woman from Kent, also 18, who had been trapped in the wreckage was cut free under the supervision of the doctor from the air ambulance and was taken to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, where she later died.
The accident happened near Traceys Farm, London Road, at about 3.30pm when a Cherokee Jeep towing a Vauxhall Aldo van towards Ongar collided with a Ford Escort which the girls had been travelling in.
