A mum-of-seven has had a "grape-sized" mole removed from her face after a gang of yobs persistently taunted her.

Wendy James say she suffered verbal abuse for three years at the hands of around 18 youngsters who nicknamed her "moley, moley".

She says the gang of teenage youths would tell her the brown mole on the right side of her cheek was as big as her rear.

Some of the insults she describes are so vulgar they are unfit to be published.

The 48-year-old, of Indus Road, Charlton, finally decided to undergo a local anesthetic in June and had the mole frozen off, paid for by the NHS.

She said: "I am ready to go public now and send out the message. My mole has gone.

"The abuse I have received has left me scared to leave my home. I couldn't leave the house without having insults hurled at me left, right and centre."

She added: "It breaks you down when you are called moley, moley' for three years.

"They would take the pee out of me every time they saw me and tell me my mole was as big as my bum.

"I would say it was more like the size of a grape or a large rabbit dropping."

Housewife Mrs James, who suffers from asthma and arthritis, says she is now on the road to recovery.

Following the removal procedure at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in central London she was in pain and had to keep the wound clean and covered.

She added: "It's just about healed now. It will leave a small mark but it looks so much better.

"I just hope these insensitive yobs leave me alone now."
