TRAFALGAR SQUARE will host celebrations to mark Diwali, the festival of light, with a feast of light shows, music and dance.
The event on Sunday, October 15, will see the square transformed by magical light displays, floating lanterns and musical and dance performances, organised by the Mayor of London in association with the Diwali in London Committee.
The Diwali has religious significance for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains, and is celebrated by many communities throughout the capital. It celebrates the victory of good over evil - and the glory of light over darkness.
Diwali in the Square will run from 4pm to 8pm. For further details, call the public liaison unit at the Greater London Authority on 020 7983 4100.
