The family and friends of a five-year-old girl killed after she was struck by a bus in Edmonton, north London, have paid tribute to their "angel".
Katerina Jacovos, of Chester Road, Edmonton, was hit by a 192 single decker bus in Hertford Road at the junction with Edmonton Green at about 6.50pm on August 17.
The youngster, known as Kattie, had been walking along the street with friends. It is believed the group were about to cross the road when the accident happened.
Kattie was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering multiple injuries.
The woman driver of the bus was treated for shock.
A memorial to Kattie, who leaves behind mother Androulla, 41, father Chris, 42, and sister Helen, 16, has been created at the scene, opposite the Inn on the Green pub.
Bouquets and candles have been placed at the spot, along with cards containing poignant tributes.
One card reads: "To Katti, she was young, her life had just begun... but now she is a little angel above us all, who will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten."
A card from her grandmother adds: "For my darling Katerina, in loving memory for a special angel, forever in my thoughts, with love."
Sarah Afeigan, 19, who observed the memorial, said: "It is so very sad, she was so young."
Speaking on behalf of the family, close friend Lee Cameron said: "Kattie was a very bubbly, very outgoing, very beautiful young angel. We are all devastated."
Officers from the collision investigation unit based at Chadwell Heath are investigating.
A police spokeswoman said: "Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the unit as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, an inquest has been opened and adjourned at Hornsey Coroner's Court.
Mark Yexley, managing director for Arriva London, the company which runs the 192 service, said: "We send our sympathy to the young girl's family and are providing support to our driver who was clearly shocked by the incident.
"We continue to work with police as they investigate this incident."
Anyone with information should call police on 8597 4874.
