POLICE are hunting a gang of five black men thought to be behind a shooting which left a man seriously wounded.
Detectives are appealing for information after a 20-year-old black man was shot in the chest on Saturday at around 12.50am.
The shot was fired during an argument between the man and the gang members, who are aged between 17 and 25.
It happened on Bardsley Lane, Greenwich, between two blocks of council housing - Lamb House and Bell House.
The gang fled and the victim was taken to a south London hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Adnan Kuershi said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen these men in the area around 12.50am on Saturday, or anyone who has information about the incident, to come forward and speak to us.
"We still have officers at the scene, and we are working closely with local borough police to offer reassurance to the community."
