Recorded on a cold late-summer's evening at Scarborough Castle last year, the re-formed Geordie punk rockers the Wildhearts rattle through their underground hits.
The September 17 gig saw frontman Ginger back on stage with original bassist Danny McCormack, singer/guitarist CJ and drummer Ritch Battersby.
The rock'n'roll rebels hurtle through crowd favourites Wanna Go Where The People Go, Sick Of Drugs, Geordie In Wonderland and Suckerpunch. There is little banter between songs, which may be a bit of a turn-off for fans of Ginger's unique wit. But his "I can't stop to breath" delivery means the songs give you a real punk pummelling.
Ginger's voice does sound a bit rusty, and so, although all the right riffs are there, this probably is not the definitive Wildhearts live album. Nonetheless, a good listen.
