The best album in ages. Fact. If you like to luxuriate in wonderful, harmonic, honey-coated, savvy pop music, then this is for you.
While so many new indie bands are intent on stealing ideas from the post-punk era, Captain seem determined to distance themselves from the sound du jour.
Their light-headed boy-girl harmonies are clearly borrowed from the genius that was Prefab Sprout (the epic Steve McQueen in particular) and the perfect pop of the 1980s. But because it is so different to what's out there, This Is Hazelville, despite its obvious influences, all sounds so very new and incredibly exciting.
Frontline is a beautifully constructed pop anthem, while the single Glorious is just that, unashamedly uplifting with a big singalong chorus. Captain have created the new sound of the summer. Buy it now!
