Children and young people around Battersea were invited to a fun event last week to highlight a very serious problem - youngsters getting on to railway tracks.
Wandsworth is a hot-spot for the extremely dangerous activity, which is why Network Rail organised the No Messin' Live at Battersea Technology College to highlight enjoyable safer alternatives to running on train tracks.
On the day there was something for everyone, street dance lessons from the dancers at Pineapple studios, cricket lessons with Urban Cricket, skateboarding, basketball and DJing.
A spokesman for the Network Rail event said: "It has been a great day so far and the event is running again tomorrow. We expect 700 children to pass through and at the moment everyone is having a great time."
John Cottrill, who works for Network Rail's London and south east region said: "In the last month there have been 50 reported incidents for trespassing and rail crime in Wandsworth, Streatham and Balham.
"The aim of No Messin' Live is to highlight there are better and less dangerous things for young people to do."
