WORK is beginning today on two major north Kent roads which see an estimated 190,000 cars between them each day.
The Highways Agency will carry out a series of improvements on the A2 and junction two of the M25 and the A282.
Work is due to be completed in Spring 2008.
An estimated 90,000 vehicles a day use junction two of the M25 and A282 each day.
The A2 carries more than 100,000 vehicles a day between junction two and Bean junction.
This stretch of road will be widened to four lanes in each direction.
Link roads will be created between the A282 and the A2.
An extra lane will connect the A2 westbound and the M25.
And a flyover will be built over the A2 and M25.
Measures will be taken to reduce noise from the roads, including low noise road surfacing and earth mounds.
