A burglar guilty of a theft at a house in Streatham has been jailed for eight months.
Angela Rhoden, 39, was sentenced at the Inner London Crown Court last Monday.
The Tooting resident, who is unemployed, claimed she had been invited to the house in Prentis Road on January 18 at about 2.45am.
Once there, she entered the rooms of the flats while the residents were sleeping and stole mobile phones, cash and a digital camera.
Four occupants had items taken by her.
Lambeth Burglary Squad Trainee Detective Constable Dereck Quarm said; “The victims should be commended for their bravery and restraint in effecting a citizens arrest on Angela Rhoden when they found her in their home, stealing their property, in the middle of the night.
Lambeth Burglary Squad remain committed to reducing burglary and will use our expertise to detect and deter these crimes always”.
