A mobile police station set up to replace closed Cobham police station is in the wrong place at the wrong time, a police volunteer has said.
Officers are outside the Cobham Centre near Waitrose on Sunday evenings.
Volunteer Ken Purssey praised policing in Cobham and said it was the first time since the Metropolitan Police handed over to Surrey Police that there had been a full team of one sergeant, two PCs and two PCSOs.
But he said: “I’m still very disappointed in this mobile police station. It should be the car park near the British Legion so the toilets can be used.”
Surrey Police said: “We are treading new ground with this initiative and nothing is set in stone. The route and times of the mobile counter service will be reviewed after three months and we will work with communities and use the feedback we get to ensure we are using the facility to meet demands.”
