BBC Audiobooks published three new Alan Bennett audiobooks this month: Single Spies, Untold Stories: Part 3 Written on the Body and Part 4 A Common Assault.
To celebrate BBC and This is Local London have teamed up to giveaway a full set of Alan Bennett's audiobooks to two lucky readers.
Bennett is one of BBC Audiobooks' top-selling authors with sales of over 850,000. Untold Stories Part 1 and Part 2, published last autumn, were so successful that they knocked Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince off the top spot on the audiobook chart.
His multi-award winning play "The History Boys" has now been made into a film and will be released nationwide from 13th October.
- "Single Spies" contains new BBC Radio 4 adaptations of two Alan Bennett plays originally performed at the National Theatre and later adapted for TV: An Englishman Abroad and A Question of Attribution.
- "Written on the Body" is both a reflection on Alan Bennett's childhood and schooldays and a meditation on writing.
- "A Common Assault" contains two more reminiscences from Bennett's life and an essay on the class system.
- "The History Boys" transferred to BBC Radio 3 and was published on audio on 3rd April.
