The Sound of Music captured the hearts of millions when the film debuted in 1965. 40 years later, the picture is still captivating our imaginations, not least with BBC1's latest reality show, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?
Now, for the first time, the real von Trapp Children are making their debut in the UK with a 10-date UK Tour in May 2007.
Meet Sofia (18), Melanie (16), Amanda (15), and Justin (12), the great great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp, father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in the musical The Sound of Music.
Already a sensation in the US, the children have become household names with appearances on Good Morning America, Fox News, and Today.
Performing a variety of folk and classical songs from various European and American traditions, as well as timeless pieces from The Sound of Music, this is a must see event for all fans of The Sound Of Music and musicals.
Amongst the numerous highlights are Do Re Mi, The Lonely Goatherd and My Favorite Things, all from The Sound Of Music, as well as a wide repertoire spanning from West Side Story to Oliver!, along with classics from Rodgers and Hammerstein.
