A posse of penguins got their skates on yesterday when Broadgate Ice Rink opened its doors for the 26th year.
Much to the amusement of early evening commuters, the South American birds were invited to be first on the ice to launch the skating season at London's only “turn up and skate” outdoor rink.
Situated in the heart of the City next to Liverpool Street Station, Broadgate Ice Rink is one of several fantastic skating venues on offer in the capital this winter. Other venues include Somerset House and the National History Museum.
Broadgate sessions are available on a first come, first served basis and run three times daily - 12:00-2:30pm, 3:30-5:30pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm (provided there are no private functions), with late night sessions on Fridays, from 6:30-9:00pm.
