On the 19 December, Boris Johnson announced that certain areas of the country will be going into a new Tier 4 of Covid-19 restrictions during the holidays. During the press conference, he stated "It is with a very heavy heart, I must tell you, we can not continue with Christmas as planned. In England, those living in Tier 4 areas should not mix with anyone outside their own household at Christmas." This means that people living in Tier 4 areas will not be allowed to meet with anyone outside their households (including family members). There is sure to be public outrage as well as a lot of people that rebel against the new rules and spend time with their family members despite them. However, the majority of people are likely to grin and bear it and obey the new rules despite any reservations that they may, and probably do have. This Christmas is sure to be one to remember or one to forget depending on how you want to look at it.
