Angry parents are set to descend on the town hall tonight to try and get a contentious decision on the future of children with special educational needs overturned.
Last month cabinet members in Ealing Council agreed to change the company which provides mediation between schools and parents to get the best possible schooling for children with learning problems.
However, parents claim they were never consulted about the switch, which saw a small locally based charity ditched in favour of a company ContinYou based in east London.
They argue the change will undo years of hard work in building relationships between the service and the school, and will damage lead to a drop in the standard of education some children receive.
The decision will be looked at in detail by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee at Ealing Council tonight, who have the power to ask the Cabinet to reconsider their position.
