A Hayes school scooped second prize in a competition to find environmental working practices for a global drinks company.
A team of pupils from Rosedale College were runners up in the Coca Cola Enterprise Challenge, having competed against other schools from across north west London.
They reached the finals, on Tuesday, November 18, held at Wembley Stadium, and were awarded second place for their idea, having come up with a new drink and produced an environmentally-friendly advertising campaign on posters and on the radio.
The pupils from the college, in Wood End Green Road, Hayes, had to pitch the idea to a panel of judges, including one of the winners from BBC's Dragon Den, Levi Roots, having been set the challenge of thinking of a new drink for either the Olympics in 2012, London Fashion Week, or the Notting Hill Carnival.
The competition was open to all schools from Hillingdon, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, Brent and Harrow, and teams from Year Ten were eligible to enter.
Two other schools from the borough, Guru Nanak Secondary School, in Springfield Road, Hayes, and Mellow Lane Comprehensive School, in Hewens Road, Hayes, also got through the finals day. The finals formed part of National Enterprise Week, which is aimed at encouraging young people to think of ways they can succeed in business.
