Maybe Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho should do his maths a little better before taking potshots across London at Arsenal’s spending.
Ahead of the two sides clashing in the Community Shield on Sunday, the Blues manager has claimed the Gunners have abandoned their cautious transfer approach.
Mourinho has suggested totting up Arsenal's spending in the last two years leads to a "surprise".
He has labelled Arsenal as genuine contenders for this year's Premier League title – and he seems to think this simply because of the Gunners’ spending spree over the last couple of seasons.
But the numbers don’t seem to match up with Mourinho’s words.
Arsenal have spent £148 million since the summer of 2013, whereas Chelsea's own investment in that time amounts to £234m.
So if Arsenal are title contenders because of their financial outlay, what does that say about Mourinho’s club?
See how the figures look below and make your own mind up.
