Following Erik ten Hag's sacking, there has been lots of speculation as to who will be the next person to step into the management role at Manchester United and try and live up to Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign there.
Many fans believed that Ten Hag may be the one to redeem United's performance recently but apparently that is not the case. United fans are yet to see the club perform and achieve as much as it did during Ferguson's management. His leadership is reflected in the achievement of the club during that time, for instance how Sir Alex Ferguson led the team to an amazing victory during the 1998-99 season, not only winning one or two cups but becoming the first ever English team to win the treble of the Champions League, Premier League and FA cup.
Currently Van Nistelrooy is in charge temporarily of the team, but it's unclear if he'll remain once the new manager is appointed. Van Nistelrooy played for United from 2001 to 2006, winning several cups during this time. He will continue to be in charge of the team until the next manager is confirmed.
Ruben Amorim seems to be the likely replacement for the club now; he's a manager of Primeira Liga club Sporting CP in Lisbon. Lots are hopeful that he is just the person Manchester United are looking for and need. It appears he will not be in charge for the match this weekend but is remaining where he is with his current club, however the delays for the deal seem to be dissipating and his arrival appears imminent.
Many still believe that the team will return to its successful levels that have seemingly not been attained since Ferguson, but as another manager takes over many wonder if they will find the leadership they are looking for. Will the Red Devils redeem themselves? The fans at least hope so; they believe that the changes under a new manager will refresh the team and help guide their way to success once again. But as yet another manager is set to take over, it's left to the upcoming seasons to reveal if Manchester United find what they are looking for.
