Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has completed a season-long loan to Sheffield United.
Championship Leeds United and Norwich City made permanent approaches for the winger, but the South London club preferred to loan the highly regarded 21-year-old.
Rak-Sakyi spent last season with Crystal Palace’s season squad, following a successful spell at League One Charlton. However, horrid luck with injuries limited the attacker to just eight appearances.
The Southwark-raised prodigy’s spell at Charlton in 2022-23 saw him scoop up the club's Player of the Year award after scoring 15 league goals while being nominated for the EFL’s Young Player of the Year.
Rak-Sakyi had a host of sides after his interim services this summer including Southampton, QPR, Lyon and Anderlecht.
Before heading to Chris Wilder’s promotion hopefuls, Rak-Sakyi spent pre-season with Oliver Glasner’s senior side - scoring three times.
Securing the switch to South Yorkshire, Rak-Sakyi becomes the eighth academy product to seal a loan move this summer.
Joining the Blades, Rak-Sakyi shared: "The plan that the gaffer had for me when we spoke was good to hear, that was why I decided to come. It was my first choice, I didn't take in the outside noise, when I spoke to the gaffer I knew it was the right place for me.
"I want to play more football, this is about me getting out and playing as many games as I can. The fans will see me work hard for the team, I'm a player who likes to express myself, get on the ball and make things happen."
The forward has been registered in time to face QPR tomorrow.
