Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner admitted that his side were outshone by Marco Silva’s Fulham.

The Eagles were swept aside at Selhurst Park on Saturday with Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson on target to inflict a two-goal defeat upon the South London club.

Losing by just two goals in SE25 flattered Glasner’s side after the Cottagers registered 17 shots with 65% possession while having two goals ruled out by VAR.

Daichi Kamada’s reckless red card perfectly epitomised Palace’s dismal defeat as the Eagles head into the international break fourth from bottom, one point outside of the relegation zone.

Summing up Palace’s display, a frustrated Glasner disclosed that Fulham played his side off the park.

“Today it's easy to sum up the game," Glasner said. "Fulham were the better team.

“They were very aggressive, played very direct and had a lot of pace in their attack.

“We made too many mistakes, too many easy mistakes.

“When we had the situations to get back into the game we didn't take them.

“The red card, again a mistake we made.

“We had the ball, inaccurate passing, a tackle in their half and then the red card, playing against a very good Fulham side.

“It's the first game this season where we deserved to lose the game - Fulham were better.

“I don't look for an excuse that we missed some players.

“I think the team that played today could have done better in many situations.

“We didn't have this determination in possession.

“We played too slow. We were always looking and looking and looking.

“We had a similar situation 15 minutes before where Clyne had press ball in the build-up.

“I think it took us four seconds to pass the ball and then in the Premier League it is too quick and then we get punished right before half time.

“Overall, if you make so many mistakes, this means you lose more and more and more of your confidence.”
