After entering into 6th form the first thing that we were told and aware of was the various opportunities that the school give us when joining the 6th form and the roles that we could sign up for.
Giving the young people opportunities such as these ones allows them to show off their skills and show what they are capable of, it also gives them the ability to take charge and show great deals of responsibility. An assembly was held to explain to 6th form was oppurtunities were available and what great impacts they would have, being able to apply for school leadership roles gives that young person a boost and a greater advantage when writing any personal statements.
I think gumley is very lucky in the sense that we offer various roles to suit everybody and what they like doing and their strengths and weaknesses and are able to use these roles to prep people for the future ahead.
also having these different roles allows students to contribute back to the school and have the voices of the students heard so that gumley know what they can do to improve anything about the school.
it gives great opportunities !
