Ever since knife crime is been around, the last three years, knife crime has increased dramatically. There are many factors/reasons why there is an increase in knife crime : people (mainly young people) don't feel safe in their area, the number of police officers were reduced (which have been effected from brexit) and many more. Some shops sell knifes/illegal possessions to young people which because of this causes knife crime in the first place. Many police officers do a inspection "buy and purchase". They go in corner shops and ask from random things and then ask either "how much does that knife cost?", "Can I have that pack of cigarettes?" or other questions. And they will arrest the shopkeeper if they hand the knife/other illegal possessions to an underaged person. Although there is a low rate of shops selling knifes as well as restricting knifes (security alarms, security near checkouts) , there is still teenagers who have knifes in their possession for self-defense.

Many teenagers should learn about : the dangers of carrying a knife, having a talk with people who were involved/commited knife crime , or watching videos of victims who have been targeted. As more teenagers learn about the dangers, the more we know that everyone will be safer.
