As Christmas is creeping around the corner, you may be looking for some tasty dessert recipes to share with friends, family, co-workers or anyone in general. I will be sharing two of my family's favourite recipes to use for the holidays to spread love, joy and cheer to others.

Hot Chocolate Bombs

This recipe is perfect for when you are on the go and need a quick energy drink. Hot chocolate bombs are amazing for when you are too tired to measure the exact amount of hot chocolate powder. They are also good for children as you don't have to worry about them making a mess of your kitchen. They are very easy to make as well!

Ingredients:

180g of dark or milk chocolate

Mini marshmallows

Hot chocolate powder

1 tbsp milk

Silicon moulds of your choice

Instructions:

Melt your chocolate in a bowl over boiling water until melted.

Add our milk and stir in.

Pour your chocolate into your silicon moulds and tip them over; only the outer parts should be covered.

Place your moulds into the fridge for 1 hour or until the chocolate is solid.

Take your chocolate shells out of your moulds and add as many marshmallows as you would like and your hot chocolate powder.

Warm a teaspoon under a warm tap and press towards the outer rim of one of your shells.

Press your 2 halves together and place them back in the fridge for 30 minutes.

You can decorate them however way you like, I would recommend sprinkles and maybe another type of chocolate drizzled on top.

And you're done!

Choc-Chunk Cookies

Don't you love it when a cookie melts in your mouth and is crispy and chewy at once? Well, I do and I'm sure you will after trying out this recipe! They are also nice to have with the hot chocolate.

Ingredients:

150g softened butter

75g brown sugar

75g golden caster sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

200g self-raising flour

200g dark chocolate

Instructions:

Cream the butter until white.

Slowly add the sugar until fully incorporated.

Whisk in the egg.

Add in the vanilla extract

Using a spatula, gently fold in your flour in batches until a dough-like consistency has been achieved.

Using a knife, cut up your chocolate into chunks. (Or you could place your chocolate into a plastic bag and hit it with a rolling pin)

Incorporate your chocolate chunks by using the spatula to fold them in.

Clingfilm the dough and place in the fridge for 1-2 hours, overnight for maximum results.

Take the dough out of the fridge and sprinkle some icing sugar onto a surface before placing your dough on top.

Roll out the dough into a long cylindrical tube.

Using a knife, cut even sectors.

Roll your sectors into balls and place them on a baking tray with parchment paper on top.

Bake for 10-15 minutes at 180C/160C fan/gas 4

Take them out of the oven.

And you're done!
