The festive season is near approaching, with advent calendars about to be brought out, ready for December 1st, Christmas lights being put up in the streets and in our houses and the cold weather attacking us, although this has been very much present these past couple weeks. This season of joy is long awaited for, some may even say they have been looking forward to it since January, either way it is something that is a time of year that is counted down to very eagerly.

The task of putting up your Christmas tree, not feeling like a task, the shiny baubles and tinsel stored away waiting for this moment to be placed on the tree for the next month, the tree ready to be crowned.

There are many traditions celebrated during this month of December from religious traditions like Hanukkah, Bodhi Day and Christmas. Although you don’t need to be religious to be in a festive mood, there are many family traditions or even traditions you have with your friends that remind you of this season such as, Ice Skating at your local ice rink, or baking christmas cookies or even the classic of huddling together in warm blankets with a cup of hot chocolate watching your favourite Hallmark movie for the 10th year in a row.

Despite what you may remember when talking about Christmas, I can assure you that snow (or what we can only truly call sludge here) will be one of the first thoughts you thought of, just like last year we will have to cross our fingers in hopes for some (lasting) snow. Snow just makes this magical time of year even more magical.

Go on and get your warm fuzzy scarfs, Christmas jumpers and hot chocolate at the ready, for the countdown is about to begin.

Merry Christmas!
