The Christmas spirit is present in Acton, as Acton High Street and Churchfield Road have been lit up with beautiful decorations. Last year, the people of Acton were gifted with a beautiful giant teddy bear holding a Christmas present in Acton Market. This year Acton is extra lucky: Santa has made his list, checked it twice and the verdict is out- Acton is nice! As a result, a giant lit up Santa ornament has been placed outside Morrisons on Acton High Street, giving people the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap and take pictures with their friends and family.

If the giant Santa ornament wasn't exciting enough, on Tuesday, there were also various different sports games , badminton to name one, that have been provided for people to play with in Acton market- a great way to stay warm as the temperatures have gotten colder as we approach Christmas.

I spoke to some people who were admiring the decorations to see what they thought.

Aaliyah, a schoolchild, said," I really like sitting on the big Santa. It felt very magical."

Fatima, 37, said," We don't celebrate Christmas in our home but I still am enjoying these magnificent lights. It really gets everyone feeling happy and excited, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. I definitely am going to take my daughter here tomorrow to see the Santa, she will be absolutely thrilled."

Decorations can also be found along Churchfield road, with a large lit up nutcracker and lights decorating all of the lampposts along the road.

So if you live or work near Acton, don't be a Scrooge! Come and have a look at the glowing lights and ornaments decorated around the area. You may have to queue to sit on the Santa's lap, but the joy and Christmas Spirit it'll give you is definitely worth the wait!
