Volunteers. Part of almost every process that occurs in today’s world. They do the simplest tasks to the most important things which help our society function. Helping charities to raise money, helping set up events, helping to clean up litter from local parks, helping with gardening in fields and much, much more.
The Roundshaw Downs is a good example of the importance of volunteers. The field has lots of weeds and brambles growing all over it and without volunteers there, it would be completely overgrown. Lots of people come every month to help clear up these weeds and brambles so that wildflowers can grow over it and make the area more beautiful and neater. I myself have been there and the results of cleaning up the area really show once it is done.
Volunteers are also important as they do all of these important services, for free! It not only means the organisations don’t have to spend expenses on people to help, rather they do it for free and the money can be used for something else.
Volunteers are a main part of our society and help it function in so many different ways and they, for the most part, aren’t recognised for their efforts, no matter what the job. They are so vital that maybe after reading this you could volunteer yourself!
