The Spongebob Squarepants “Krabby Patty Kollab” meal hit UK shores on October 8th at a total of 9 separate locations.

The meal consists of a recreation of the renowned “Krabby Patty” burger from the show, with an accompanying side.

What’s more interesting, however, is that two of these locations happen to be in Camden Lock Market, a mere minute walk away from each other.

This begged the question: which of these Camden Krabby Patties is the better buy, and which one should people purchase if they happen to find themself in the Camden Lock area?

The first location selling the Spongebobian burger is “The Mac Factory”, located at postcode NW1 8AB, advertised strongly by a bright sign featuring the yellow sponge.

The meal consists of a “Double Smash Krabby Patty”, accompanied by “Krusty Krab Seaweed Waffle Fries” and “Old Bay Mayo Dip”, all for the price of £14.95.

The meal came in a box with a handle showing spongebob’s face on it, and all the different meal components came in Squarepants-brand containers.

The burger itself consisted of two smash patties, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard and “starfish cheese”, overall keeping the main key components of the burger in the show, and the seaweed waffle fries were a very creative addition.

“Bun & Sum”, the other market stall selling the meal at the same postcode, had much less marketing than its competitor, having no clear signs that the burger was being sold there.

The meal was in fact being sold here however, consisting of a burger containing “American cheese, pickles and a secret sauce”, along with what was referred to as “Kelp Fries” and a tomato dip for £13.

Whilst the meal itself is almost £2 cheaper, it did seem a lot less creative, as whilst the burger and fries were good, they just seemed like something that could easily be bought elsewhere for the same experience.

Overall, if price is the most important factor, the Bun & Sum meal is better in terms of money, as you are basically getting the same three components as the alternative option for a cheaper price.

However, the “Mac Factory” meal did seem to have a lot more creativity, staying more faithful to the show and having an interesting take on the fictional meal.

The meals are available until October 27th, so get them whilst they’re still available.
