To celebrate 61 years of Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance (or RSB as the students & staff refer to it), the students and staff prepared, rehearsed, and performed a series of spectacular shows on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th of October.

Dance styles ranged from classical ballet to modern jazz, and the Starlight Performing Arts Academy (a musical theatre group which is a part of RSB) put on some musical numbers from Frozen, including a hand-made Olaf!

RSB is an incredible dance school with classes for ages ranging from 2 years to adult.

There are dance styles which suit all dancers, such as ballet, tap, contemporary, street and acrobatics to name a few.

The dance teachers and backstage crew for shows are fantastic with their knowledge of dance and understanding of the students.

For some staff members, this was their last performance with RSB and although they will no doubt miss the school and will be missed, the school could not be more proud of them for moving on to bigger and better things.

Every student at this school is friendly, talented, and passionate for dance, and the school is the perfect environment for children to thrive, giving them the chance to make new friends, learn from teachers and other children, and therefore grow as a person.

Students from all age groups have loved every minute of preparation & performance and some of the senior dancers have said:

"It was really exciting for all involved and an overall fun experience!"

"It was a great experience to connect with friends and teachers and show a crowd of people my passion for dance."

"I had an amazing time showcasing the effort my friends and I put into dance, and it was an amazing experience to be a part of."

"It was so exciting in the wings, getting ready to go on - the atmosphere was thrilling in the best way possible."

All audience members thoroughly enjoyed the performances and felt extremely grateful to be a part of RSB's 61st year celebration.

Now that the show weekend has finished, students will be preparing for dance exams during weekly lessons and it though it may be bitter-sweet that the shows are over, many students will surely be looking forward to performing on a stage again in the next couple of years.
