I have curated five of the most popular Christmas activities in London which are perfect for any winter event, from family gatherings to nights out with friends.

Although it may seem a little early for Christmas, many of these activities are already available to book, so to ensure they get a place in your festive calendar, book your favourites soon.

1.    Visit London’s beautiful Christmas lights.

Soho, Oxford Street and Regent Street are renowned for their beautiful light displays, alongside many other destinations around central London.

Crowds gather throughout the Christmas season to see twinkling angels and stars sparkle above the streets of central London.

2.    Visit the London eye at night.

Take a ride in one of the London Eye’s 32 pods to enjoy London’s Christmas lights from above, whilst avoiding the bustling streets and crowds.

With tickets from £29, it is a uniquely beautiful way to experience the glowing city below.

3.    Visit Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

This infamous Christmas attraction is full of rides, stalls, food and drink and the Christmas ambience is an experience like no other.

This year it will run from the 21st of November to the 5th of January from 10am to 10pm with an entry fee between £5 and £10 (depending on peak or off-peak timings).

4.    Go ice skating at a beautiful outdoor ice rink.

London is filled with beautiful outdoor ice-skating rinks during the Christmas season. A popular spot to the South-West of London is Hampton Court Palace ice rink.

This will be open from 22nd November 2024 until 5th January 2025 (excluding Christmas Day). Ticket prices can be found on their website.

The beautiful view of the palace and the Thames accompanies the fun, festive ice skating, a wonderful way to socialise with family and friends.

5.    Visit the Kew Gardens light show.

Kew light show is a beautiful, illuminated light trail through Kew Gardens in Surrey. From fairy lights, to glittering tunnels, to lake side light shows; Kew light trail has it all.

This year it will be running from the 13th of November 2024 to the 5th of January 2025 from 4.20pm to 10pm (excluding specific dates- more information can be found on their website).
