Whether you relish finding the perfect vintage clothing gems, are fascinated with limited edition cars from the 50’s onwards, or just simply love the vibe of decades past; The Classic Car Boot Sale has something you’ll love.
The event is hosted Trianually all around London and is comprised of countless independently run vintage clothing, accessories, and collectibles stalls, an array of street food stalls, museum worthy classic cars, and live music played by handpicked vinyls.
The event was most recently held in Cole Drops Yard, located in Kings Cross from the 28th to the 29th of September.
Not only does the event encourage all sorts of interactivity such as fairground rides, but also participating while dressed head to toe in vintage clothing is strongly encouraged and frequently seen.
So that walking through the stalls surrounded by people dressed in 60’s/70’s/80’s clothes really does create a terrifically retro atmosphere.
For all the car lovers, there’s always a wide selection of British classics ranging from embellished Cadillacs to Ford Cortinas from the 70’s.
The owners drive their cars up to the event and stay so that viewers can ask and compliment all day long; some stay even to promote selling their car!
The cars are available to the public to take as many photos as they want, and from a photographer's perspective, I saw a great opportunity with a costumed person of the 70’s posing against the backdrop of a brandished Lotus Esprit (famously known as James Bond’s car in “The Spy Who Loved Me”).
I personally found it scintillating with a differently intriguing car or absolutely-need-to-buy item around every corner, and with tickets priced at just £6, the next event - which can be found on the “Classic Car Boot Sale” website - should be on your London bucket list.
