Stagecoach: an institution for those who love the stage.

This performing arts school nourishes the passion of children from ages as young as four to as mature as eighteen.

Through Stagecoach, every child has the opportunity to develop, polish, and show off their theatre skills (acting, singing, and dancing) on stage through a variety of musicals.

However, how does Stagecoach Ealing Troupe differentiate from the standard Stagecoach experience?

Jessica McShane, Stagecoach Ealing Troupe’s dance teacher and choreographer, explains:

“Troupe is an opportunity for students to get extra, in-depth training. It gives them an insight to the pressure and expectations of pursuing performing arts as a career.”

Ms McShane goes on to vocalise that Troupe,

“..Also gives our students the chance to perform in some prestigious venues, such as His Majesty’s Theatre and The O2 Arena.”

Troupe is not only a place to have fun and develop skills; it is also a launchpad for students’ future careers. It maintains the balance between academic skills and coveted extra-curricular soft-skills (e.g., public speaking, leadership), teaches students how to manage their personal stress efficiently (by continuous exposure to expectations and pressures from both sides of the spectrum), as well as recognition in the arts industry from performing in prestigious venues.

Despite the fact it has only been formed quite recently, Stagecoach Ealing Troupe has already made a few notable appearances.

The Troupe has made appearances at: Her Majesty’s Theatre (with their pop-filled performance, ‘Dance the Night Away’), the Jack Petchey Glee Club Competition (with their ‘Tina Turner Tribute’ and ‘Survival of The Fittest’ performances), and His Majesty’s Theatre (performing a Squid Game-themed dance).

Holding such a high reputation, there is a continuous physical and mental demand on each student to consistently display each performance to a high standard.

Therefore, how does Troupe sustain it’s safe environment for each student overall?

Each child is physically taken care of through the use of warm ups - this is a key part of every Troupe session.

Furthermore, when the demand for improvement is high (e.g., flexibility), it is easy to overwork the body. However, students are thoroughly taken care of and are physically pushed to a healthy limit each session.

In terms of every child’s mental state, a strong connection and a safe atmosphere between peers and teachers are created overall.

Hence, through the bond, students are inclined to trust their teacher and are able to express any of their worries.

Stagecoach Ealing Troupe is much more than a safe place for children to have fun and let their passions flourish:
