With 130 animals on site, 5 acres of land and years of experience, Deen City Farm has an abundance of festive activities for all ages this winter.
The Southwest London Farm has become a staple in the local community, providing over 30,000 visitors a year of all ages the opportunity to interact with farmyard animals in a natural setting.
A representative from the farm describes the many activities and events taking place at the farm at the moment, including: “craft activities, the riding school, meet and greets, Halloween events,” and more.
The farm not only houses its own riding school but also numerous volunteering opportunities for the young and old alike.
The farm has had a number of setbacks this year following a power failure that cut off power to half of the site.
The failure resulted in necessities such as toilets on site being entirely out of use and alternatives having to be rented or additional money spent just to get things somewhat back to normal.
The cost-of-living crisis and inflation have caused these prices to become difficult to meet and the farm was almost shut down earlier this year.
However, residents of the local community came to the rescue of the charity and have not only surpassed the target amount by over £20,000, but also made numerous donations of items useful to the farm, including food for the animals.
Today, the charity still encourages those nearby to help out by continuing to visit the farm, for either a simple day trip, a volunteering opportunity or for a course of horse riding lessons.
