On the 16th of October, Parmiters School hosted a social event for their 6th form.
Held at Hollywood Bowl Woodside, this was a fantastic event for both old and new external members of the 6th form to socialise and meet new people.
Attended by a majority of the year 12 students, and also some year 13 students, the centre was almost full with every lane filled with students.
This provided the opportunity to meet students from other years, which is not always possible, as well as to simply meet with your friends.
Along with the Hollywood Bowl at Woodside Leisure Park, the bowling alley is accompanied by several restaurants next door, as well as a cinema and Ninja Warrior centre.
This allows a comprehensive and entertaining area with activities for all. Many students went out to these restaurants after the event, as a wholesome way to finish the night.
As an internal student of Parmiter's School, I have enjoyed getting to get to know the external students I have met, but i can imagine that events like this have been really useful for external students to get to know people, as joining a new school can be a struggle, especially in the 6th form as everybody already knows each other.
After hearing about the event from the email from school, Yanyi Lu, year 12 said her favourite part of the evening was “eating Nandos afterwards with all of my friends as it was a tiring evening after a long day of school so it was a good opportunity to unwind” and that “it was a good opportunity to socialise and relax after the stresses of A levels”.
Overall the evening of bowling provided a fun and lighthearted opportunity to socialise and connect with new friends outside of the typical school setting, allowing students to relax and unwind.
