As the annual anticipation of Halloween approaches, Kew Gardens for the first time ever is haunting the dark nights with lights, spooky sounds and immersive live performances.
This event really has it all.
Halloween at Kew is a 1.5km trail through the magnificent gardens, taking most people around an hour to an hour and a half to complete.
Importantly, this attraction (unlike most after-dark Halloween attractions) is suitable for all ages, and it is a perfect way to get into the enchanting Halloween spirit.
At the start of the trail is a food and drink zone, with plenty of tasty options, served quickly despite the crowds.
The trail itself guides you on a journey through different themed zones, from petrifying pumpkin patches to creepy cemeteries and gangs of ghoulish ghosts.
The use of lasers, sound effects, mist and live actors further added to the drama and meant that it felt like a fully immersive experience.
Indeed, halfway through the tantalizing trail there is a short enthralling live fire show, where the spellbinder conjures up an incantation to make the barrier between the living and the dead meet, whilst smoothly wielding a double fire-ended stick.
In this area there was also a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a hot drink stand to enjoy this incredible spectacle with.
Julia, 46, a mother of three, commented that "It was a fabulous family outing and I really hope that Kew Gardens repeat the event next year."
In conclusion, Halloween at Kew Gardens is an excellent way to extend the Halloween Season beyond just the one night of trick or treating, and is fun for the whole family to enjoy a fabulous and memorable night.
