Wimbledon’s restaurant scene is buzzing this year.

From new ventures such as Popeye’s, to old favourites like the Fire Stables, there are many places to catch a bite to eat in Wimbledon.

I will be giving you the four best dinner options in Wimbledon Village, all of which are less than a twenty-minute walk from Wimbledon Station.

Bon Appetit!

Thai Tho – at any Thai restaurant, the ‘pad thai’ is always a safe bet, and Thai Tho’s version of this (‘kao pad thai tho’) is delectable.

It is served with fried rice and either prawns or chicken, as well as carrots and cashew nuts.

The cashew nuts are what makes this dish the best, as they add an extra crunch of texture.

The portions are quite big so if you are with siblings under 14 then I’d suggest a half-portion for them.

Côte – the Cote set menu is an iconic dinner choice in my opinion.

My favourite dish is the ‘steak frites’.

The steak is very thin and melts in your mouth; it is definitely a lot more enjoyable than most thick steaks at other restaurants.

The garlic butter on the steak is delightful.

And of course, any dish with chips gets an immediate 10/10 from me.

However, if you are someone that enjoys more well-done steak over rare/medium rare, then this is the not the dish for you, as the Cote ‘steak frites’ is cooked medium rare.

Cent Anni – this is an Italian restaurant which is a great alternative to chains like Carluccio’s.

The best pizza is definitely the ‘Cent Anni house pizza’, with salami, burrata, prosciutto, parmesan and rocket.

This pizza is delicious, and it tastes more unique than a regular margherita due to the house sauce that is drizzled over it.

It might not be everyone’s first choice, so if you do want to stick to a margherita then don’t order this as it is more an acquired taste.

Meghan’s – although Meghan’s is geared a bit more towards brunch and breakfast, it still does dinner very well.

The best dish is certainly the ‘open chicken kebab’.

It feels very different and unique compared to other restaurants.

If you want a side as well, I suggest the ‘halloumi fries’, drizzled with honey.

They are cooked to perfection and the honey makes them sweet and crunchy, perfect to eat alongside a Meghan’s posh kebab.

Final suggestion: Meghan’s cookie dough – after any of these dishes, there is no shame in heading to Meghan’s in the Village to grab a half-baked cookie dough to share between 2 or 3 people.

This dish is truly legendary; Nutella, salted caramel ice cream, and cookie dough makes for the perfect post-dinner combination.

Jack Pepper, uni student from Wimbledon, advocates, “even if I am full after dinner, I always get a Meghan’s cookie dough. It is perfect to share with my siblings and tastes amazing.”

If you are unsure of which restaurant to go to next time you are out to dinner in Wimbledon, why not try one of these options!
