As you grow older, you may feel as if you’d like more than just your weekly pocket money. While there are rules and regulations around teen jobs, there is still a lot of choice.
A local newsagent said “Teen jobs provide leadership skills and help you understand the value of money, it is very important to experience working life early on.” So, here are some part time jobs you can work as a teenager.
Newspaper round
What would you need to do?
Depending on the shop, you would need to collect and deliver papers in the morning to locals. This can be done on a bike or on foot. It usually does not take more than thirty minutes.
How much might you get paid?
£5 a day £20 a week (depending on how much you work)
Babysitter
What would you need to do?
You would need to look after young children, e.g cooking, playing with them and putting them to bed.
How much might you get paid?
Usually minimum wage but it is up to the family that you are babysitting for.
Dog walker
What would you need to do?
This job is perfect if you love dogs. You would have to take care of and walk dogs at local parks or woods.
How much might you get paid?
£10-13 an hour.
Shop assistant
What would you need to do?
This job’s responsibilities can vary but you would usually need to stock shelves and help out in the store.
How much might you get paid?
£13-15 an hour.
